In our music camps beginners will learn basic music theory elements to get a great head start into any music program in their future.
More advanced students will have their music theory knowledge reinforced & developed further.
We incorporate music theory into a variety of learning activities & games including our own variations of popular TV game shows & video games! It's easier to remember what you learn when you are having fun!
All music camp students will have opportunities for learning by ear, composing, playing the piano & ensemble playing.
Who may participate: Students aged 5 - 11 with any level of music experience.
Camp location: 27 Spruce Crescent, St Albert, Alberta
What to bring:
-
a peanut free lunch & 2 snacks.
- sunscreen, hat
- bug spray if you like
- bathing suit & towel or a change or clothes (on hot days we incorporate the sprinkler into our games & activities). YOU choose how wet to get.
All music & required materials for the camps are included at no extra cost.
Each student will also receive a Piano Stars lanyard, a computer printed copy of any compositions they create & will earn piano money to spend in the piano store on the last day (small toys & gifts). Student will also have their pictures & videos of daily events posted in our online photo & video gallery.

*The Amazing Music Race – just like the TV show but with musical activities & limited to Carolyn’s house & yard
*The Piano Stars Game (composers, scales, intervals, note naming, terms…)
*Composer “Guess Who?” – learn what composers from 1800’s to present look like
*Musical Splash – yes there is water involved!
*Bach on Back – can you figure out which composer you are?
*Music Ace - Computer Game
*Musical Scavenger Hunt
*Musical Memory
*Musical Charades
*Make Your Own Instrument
*Rhythm Games – with tambourines, whistles, bells, symbols, maracas, sticks & blocks

Earliest drop off time: 7:30am
